Cleaning a Car

What to do, start to finish.

You Will Get an Email Asking If You Can Clean a Car

It tells you which car and when it needs to be done by. That time comes from the next booking, so it is a real deadline, not a guess.

Reply to the email. Say yes or no in your own words; you do not need to write anything special. Cleaners are asked one at a time, so if you say yes, it is yours.

If you cannot do it, saying no is genuinely useful. It moves on to the next person straight away instead of waiting.

Cleaning the Car

Interior vacuumed, surfaces wiped, glass inside and out, bins emptied. Exterior washed unless you have been told otherwise.

Check for anything left behind and anything damaged. If something is wrong with the car (a warning light, a scrape that was not there before, a smell you cannot shift), tell the host straight away rather than finishing and mentioning it later.

Photos

Take a photo of the dashboard showing the mileage, and photos of the inside once it is clean. Front seats, back seats, trunk.

Put them in your host's shared Google Drive cleaning folder, in a new folder named with the date and the car, for example 2026-09-25 Red Kia Forte. When your host has Google Drive connected, only that folder records the cleaning, so the car is not marked clean until it is there. Replying done, Mark Done and your host's Mark Cleaned do not record it.

If your host has no Google Drive folder, the Cleaning confirmed email asks you to reply done once the car is clean. Do that instead. With more than one car on it, name the car, for example Forte done. That reply, or your host pressing Mark Cleaned, is how the cleaning is recorded.

With no Google Drive folder, if you sign in you can press Mark Done on the car on your Cleaning page instead of replying done. It records the cleaning the same way.

The mileage photo matters more than it looks: it is how oil changes get scheduled, so a car with no readings quietly stops being tracked.

Getting Paid

Your host sets the rate and pays you directly, however you have agreed. The app records each cleaning so there is an accurate list of what you are owed.

If a payment looks wrong or missing, ask your host. They can see every cleaning the app recorded.

If anything is wrong with the car (a warning light, damage, a smell you cannot get rid of), tell the host before you finish, not after.
